Memorial Day

Veterans Memorial Park in Pensacola, Florida late yesterday. The 14th annual Memorial Weekend Ceremony had been held earlier in the day with speeches and a 21 gun salute.
Monuments on the site honor veterans of all American wars, but the “Wall South” is the most dramatic. When the Viet Nam memorial “Moving Wall” came to Pensacola in 1987, veterans felt Pensacola should have a permanent monument honoring men and women who served in Viet Nam. After 5 years of fundraising, the permanent monument came into being in 1992.
You can go to PensacolaWallSouth.org for more details on the Wall South.
Also, the Pensacola News-Journal has a very nice story today in print and on their web site covering the Memorial Day ceremony.
