When Ruby Crawford died recently, we lost some of the good that was the Old South. I had the pleasure of photographing her for my newspaper, the Atlanta Journal-Constitution, on the occasion of her 90th birthday. Although it was the first time I had met her in person, I had seen her for years while running the Peachtree Road Race every July 4th. She and her twin sister, Ruth, were always dressed in patriotic colors and cheering on the passing runners.
A very nice obituary by Steve Visser is in today’s Atlanta Journal-Constitution and also online at ajc.com.
